Sumter sheriff searching for man who shattered door at Villages liquor store

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who shattered the glass door at a Villages liquor store after being turned away for not having identification.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies are searching for the man pictured above, who is wanted in connection with shattering the glass door at the Publix liquor store in the Colony Plaza.

The man went into the Publix liquor store in the Colony Plaza on May 1 shortly after 6 p.m. and attempted to purchase alcohol. After the clerk refused to sell it to him, he punched the glass on the automatic door and shattered it as he was exiting the store. He then left in a golf cart headed toward County Road 466A, a sheriff’s office report states.
