Alfred Oliver Wallace, Sr., 89, of Silver Springs passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, at EW and Lucille Cates Hospice house in Ocala with his granddaughter Jessica and her husband by his side during his final moments with us.

Mr. Wallace was a native of Eureka, Florida and a lifetime member of the Silver Springs community. He was a retired steel erector, a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the Moose Lodge. He’s most valued membership was Cedar Creek Baptist Church, where he was active in many different capacities.

Survivors include his children Alfred O. Wallace Jr., Nancy Burch, Dean-o Yarbrough; brothers, Eugene Wallace, Junior Wallace; sister Loyacell Glatley; daughter in laws, Marcella Childers, Gina Cannarella; grandchildren Jessica Dempsey, her husband Adrian Dempsey, Amanda Wallace, Alfred Wallace III, Crystal Ordenez, Josh Wallace Joey Wallace, Amber Burch, Kristie Burch; grandson-in-law Terell Jones; great grandchildren Jason Morley, Chloe Dempsey, Tre Dempsey, Jasmine Morley, Elyssia Caballero, Tamya Jones, Ja’kyla Jones and close friends Danny Valencourt and Glen Park. Predeceased by John A Wallace, James C Wallace, Lillian Counts, IvaJane Mullohan, Jake Crowe Wallace, Carrie Wallace, Geraldine Wallace.

A funeral service will be held at 9am on August 21, 2021, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 Southeast Silver Springs Boulevard, Ocala, FL, 34481. A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Friday evening.
