Bicyclist wearing reflective vest and helmet struck and killed in Marion County

A bicyclist wearing a reflective vest and helmet was struck and killed Monday evening in Marion County.

Robin Stewart Mills, 67, of Ocala had been riding in an easterly direction at 6:21 p.m. on County Road 314 when he was struck and killed by a 1997 Toyota T100 driven by 38-year-old Jesse Wayne Berry of Ormond Beach which had also been eastbound on CR314, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Mills was pronounced dead at the scene.

Berry escaped injury.

Charges are pending.
