I was told I was buying a ‘lifestyle’

To the Editor:

It’s really no surprise developers are building homes on every available inch of property in the tri-county area. When I purchased in 2005, I was told there would be expansion. However I also was told I was buying a “lifestyle,” too, in addition to a house. Well, that lifestyle has certainly changed over the past decade. The same tired stores occupy space in the squares; cars and golf carts clog the roadways, and crime has increased along with the population. So, when I read of a proposed plan to build an alligator farm close by, I was happy. Such businesses take up space and that means fewer houses, cars and carts. As for the gators, come to my neighborhood and you’re likely to see the reptiles roaming without the benefit of fences. Perhaps a few container nurseries or field nurseries could be established as well – anything to cut into the population that will undoubtedly become a sea of people.
