Woman traumatically injured when thrown from golf cart on Pinellas Place

A woman was traumatically injured when she was thrown from a golf cart at about 4 p.m. on Pinellas Place.

The woman had been riding as a passenger in the golf which had been traveling on Pinellas Place and making a left turn onto Asher Path.

She was thrown onto the westbound lane of Pinellas Place and Villager David Bussone immediately stopped his car to block traffic. He and another Good Samaritan called 911. Passersby rushed to keep the woman calm until the Villages Public Safety Department arrived. She was declared a trauma alert.

The investigation into the accident has been turned over to the Florida Highway Patrol.
