Norman Oppenheimer is a fixer who wanders the streets of New York City on a lucky streak. He opportunistically meets a well-dressed man and buys him a pair of expensive shoes.  The man later becomes the Prime Minister of Israel.  Jewish himself, he promises that he can arrange an introduction to anyone no matter how impossible it seems with “I know him.  Would you like to meet him?”

In my day, Norman would have been called a Flim-Flam Man.  But Norman has a thread of honesty that captures your heart.

Richard Gere stars in “Norman.”

“Norman” is slow moving, but Gere (a Buddist) is great casting for the role.  See this movie as an interesting, pleasant diversion from the crash-bam films currently playing.  “Norman” gets a solid B grade and is currently playing at the Rialto Theater in The Villages.
