Wolfy’s restaurant in Ocala was shut down last week after failing a health inspection.
The restaurant located at 2159 E. Silver Springs Blvd. was shut down this past Thursday after evidence of rodent and roach activity was discovered, according to an inspector’s report on file with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
A high priority violation included rodent droppings found on the floor and under the bread shelf. There was a live mouse in a glue trap under the bread shelf. Roaches were found, including one found on a glue trap near the dish machine. There was also an accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in the interior of the ice machine.
The restaurant passed inspection on Saturday and was granted permission to re-open.
The management of Wolfy’s acknowledged the closing on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
“Dear Wolfy’s customers, so sorry to inform, even confess that we are closed due to a ‘mouse problem.’ Never before in 35 years have we had this experience. However, now we must solve it at once! A recent A/C repair left an unsealed hole in our outside wall that allowed these little critters to find their way in. Really, really sorry, but we have closed to insure the health and safety of all our customers,” the Facebook post stated.
The management indicated that the restaurant will reopen Monday, July 31 after completing some additional renovation work.
