As detectives arrived, they observed a masked gunman exit the store. The gunman, later identified as suspect 33-year-old Rodney F. Snow, jumped into the passenger side of a waiting vehicle being driven by 30-year-old Cristina Gaud. The vehicle fled from deputies a short distance before crashing near the 7900 block of SW 80th Street.

Snow fled on foot toward a wooded area outside of the Indigo East neighborhood. As detectives surrounded the suspect in the wooded area, he shot himself. Detectives rendered first aid to Snow until paramedics could transport him to a local hospital where he is currently in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

Detectives also discovered that Gaud had her 10-year old child in the car with her during this event. The child was not injured and the Florida Department of Children and Families has been called in to assist with the safe placement of the child.

Gaud has been charged with felony child neglect and principal to an armed robbery. She is currently being held without bond at the Marion County Jail.
