Gordon Ray Younger

Gordon Ray Younger, 65, Leesburg, Florida, passed away on January 3, 2018 at Florida Hospital Waterman, Tavares, Florida with his loving family by his side. Gordon was born on December 2, 1952 in Peterborough, New Hampshire to his parents Raymond A. Younger and Lillian I. Younger.

He was formerly employed by Bausch and Lomb in Clearwater, Florida for over 34 years. He moved to Leesburg 3 years ago from Clearwater and was a devoted member of Church of the Nazarene of Leesburg, Florida. He was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Navy. He volunteered at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club in Bradenton for several years and helped to form an astronomy club and model rocket club to help develop young minds.

He is survived by his loving brother and sister-in-law: Andy and Kay Younger of Leesburg, FL; two nephews: Michael (Amanda) Younger of Davisburg, MI and Raymond (Sarah) Younger of Harrison City, PA and two grand nephews and two grand nieces.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Noon at Church of the Nazarene in Leesburg, FL with a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will follow the funeral service at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with Military Honors.
