Congress taking 14-week vacation instead of working on nation’s problems

To the Editor:

I just read that the Senate and House are not going to address gun control, immigration or a budget to fund the government through fiscal 2018.
Instead they are going to take a 14-week vacation! I worked for 40 years and never got a 14-week vacation. The most I got was four and only after working for the same company for several years.
When are we going to stop allowing these overpaid arrogant employees – yes, they work for us – continue to get away with such actions? Instead of uniting as a country and holding them accountable, we spend our energies fighting with each other. Neither Democrats or Republicans are all right or all wrong. As long as the lunatic fringe of both parties control what happens we will continue to pay high salaries and benefits to non working employees. No company can be successful this way and neither can our government!
