Villager arrested after allegedly slapping woman in head over volume of television

Vivian Sahagian

A Villager was arrested Monday after an alleged altercation over the volume of a television.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called at 5:52 p.m. Monday to a home on Astor Way in the Village of Sabal Chase. A woman at the home told deputies she had been struck by 75-year-old Vivian R. Sahagian.

The victim’s husband told deputies he was in the garage at the time and heard Sahagian and the victim arguing over the television volume, but he did not witness the incident, according to the arrest report.

The Sumter County Communications Center revealed Sahagian stated on a recorded emergency 911 phone line that she was in a verbal argument and that she slapped the victim in the head.

Sahagian was arrested on a charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
