62-year-old woman driving on suspended license arrested after crack cocaine found in her purse

A 62-year-old Summerfield woman driving on a suspended license was arrested after crack cocaine was found in her purse.

Virginia Kay Poore had been at the wheel of a 1998 Oldsmobile 88 at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday when she was pulled over by a Lady Lake police officer. In her purse, an officer found a Marion Sheriff’s Office County accident report from March as well as a citation for driving while license suspended.

There was also a prescription for 180 Methadone pills.The prescription had been filled April 11 and there were only two pills remaining.

Crack cocaine was also found in the purse as well as several pipes with residue, according to the arrest report.

Poore admitted to using cocaine over the past six months.

She was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended.

She was booked at the Lake County Jail. She was released after posting $4,000 bond.
