New girlfriend arrested in alleged attack during custody exchange at RaceTrac

Jennifer Lynn Abigail Szabo

A 28-year-old Ocala woman was arrested after an alleged attack on her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend during a child custody exchange at RaceTrac in Lady Lake.

Jennifer Lynn Abigail Szabo was arrested Wednesday on a warrant charging her with battery.

The warrant states that Szabo had accompanied her boyfriend to the gas station on Monday where the child custody exchange was to take place.

The boyfriend and his ex-girlfriend got into an argument over the removal of shoes which had been purchased for the child. Szabo approached the child’s mother and began using profanity toward her. Szabo hit the woman in the eye, spit on her twice and then fled the scene, the warrant said.

She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
