Villages homeowner lands plane in Atlantic Ocean after running out of fuel

A man who owns a home in The Villages landed his plane in the Atlantic Ocean this week after running out of fuel.

Richard Goosman, who owns a home in the Village of Bridgeport at Miona Shores, had been flying the small plane Tuesday afternoon when he made an emergency landing off the coast of Daytona Beach Shores.

A Villager’s plane landed in the Atlantic Ocean after running out of fuel.

Goosman told investigators he had been flying down from his home in Blowing Rock, N.C.

Witness Marcia Harden called it  “a graceful water landing.”

Goosman made his way onto a wing and the lifeguards were able to get him to safety.

Florida Air Recovery removed the plane from the water.
