Wal-Mart ‘stocker’ jailed for trespassing at Ocala store in search of key

Leonard Sartana Seepersad

A man claiming to be a Wal-Mart stocker was arrested Thursday morning after he was asked to leave the discount retail store at 34 Bahia Ave. in Ocala.

When a Marion County sheriff’s deputy arrived at the store, an assistant manager told him that 34-year-old Leonard Sartana Seepersad had been asked to leave because there already was a trespass warning against him, a sheriff’s office report states.

The deputy then made contact with Seepersad, who was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot. Seepersad said that his mother had brought him to the Wal-Mart because he “thought his key was inside the store,” a report says.

Seepersad was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with trespassing after being warned and released later that night on $1,000 bond.

Seepersad is no stranger to the Marion County legal system, having been housed in the jail two other times. In September 2015, he was arrested on a contempt of court charge for violating a domestic violence injunction and sentenced to one year of probation. And in August 2007, he spent 15 days in the jail after being arrested on charges of simple domestic battery and aggravated domestic assault. Those charges were dropped/abandoned later that month, court records show.
