The following counterfeit checks were:

The discovery was made by the town’s finance director and reported to the Lady Lake Police Department. All amounts of the five counterfeit checks have had debit reversals and the money has been credited back to the Town of Lady Lake’s SunTrust bank account.

The check numbers had already been used and the checks had been distributed to legitimate people and businesses in October, according to the incident report from the police department.
