Local author will offer presentation about the Groveland Four

Gary Corsair

The Lake County Historical Museum will present “The Path to Pardon,” the story of the Groveland Four.

Author Gary Corsair will be discussing his book, “Legal Lynching: The Sad Saga of the Groveland Four.” This book was the basis for the Emmy Award-winning WUCF documentary “The Groveland Four,” which was filmed on location at the Historic Courthouse and in cooperation with the Lake County Historical Society.

Corsair was a long-time staffer at The Villages Daily Sun.

Gov. Ron DeSantis recently granted posthumous pardons to the four black men accused of raping a white woman in 1949.

This event will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25. Doors open at 6:30 and admission is free.
