Villager calls for help after finding open doors in Village of Springdale home

A Villager called a Marion County sheriff’s deputy for help Monday after returning to her Village of Springdale home and finding open doors.

The woman, who lives in the 8800 block of SE 177th Grassmere St., reported that she and her husband had left their home around 5 p.m. and when they returned home around 10 p.m., they entered through the kitchen and found two French doors open. The woman said she was almost certain the doors were shut when they left the house. She told the deputy she couldn’t find anything missing from the residence but wasn’t sure if someone had been inside her home, a sheriff’s office report says.

The deputy checked the rear doors and observed no signs of forced entry. The woman said the home has an alarm system but it wasn’t armed at the time. And she said she’d like the incident documented “in case anything else happens at her residence,” the report says.
