VHA salutes Day-Break Club as Volunteer Organization of the Year

The VHA has honored the Day-Break Club of The Villages with its 2018 Volunteer Organization of the Year.

The club was presented with a plaque and a $1,000 check. The club offers respite services and respite care for loved ones with Alzheimer’s, dementia and another special needs.

The Day-Break Club provides a supervised environment where caregivers can drop off family members who have special needs for a few hours each week. Members of the club receiving these services are Day-Breakers. Day-Break volunteers provide supervision and are coordinated by the trained Day-Break Leadership Team.
