A large load of logs spilled Monday afternoon at an intersection just off U.S. 301 in Summerfield.
The driver of the truck hauling the logs was southbound on U.S. 301 at about 1 p.m. when a car in front of him slammed on its brakes, according to witnesses at the scene. In order to avoid a collision, the driver of the truck made a quick right turn onto SE 132nd Street. When he made the turn, the trailer he was towing fell to its side, spilling the logs onto the roadway.
The incident blocked traffic at the intersection of SE 132nd Street and U.S. 301.
The Florida Highway Patrol was called in to investigate the accident.
