Trump is a clear and present danger to all Villagers

Miles Zaremski

There have been other Letters to the Editor on Trump, pro and con, so I hope I am not repeating what any of their authors had to say.

Yes, we have read opinions about his incompetency or that he is the best thing since sliced bread (to which this author will NEVER subscribe), but, now, Trump has become a clear and present danger to all Villagers and The Villages as the largest retirement community of its type nationwide.

What, you say, how can that be said of Trump?

Am I being blasphemous to his voting base here? Within the last 24 hours, Trump said he does not want “the cure to be worse than the problem,” meaning next week he will determine whether or not the social distancing rule of no more than 10 folks congregating and at a distance of six feet should continue.

This is despite ALL medical experts telling us (rightfully) to the contrary. Even Trump mouthing these words should be frightening to every American. And when Trump said what he said, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the lead infectious disease expert, was MIA at Trump’s presser Monday.  Some credible reporting indicates Trump is growing thin with Dr. Fauci. This just points to Trump’s instability, since his words apply to any Villager, regardless of political stripe. Even within Trump’s minion group is a thought about maybe grandparents should sacrifice for their grandkids. What does that mean, that we (most of us in The Villages by average age) should die so that are young relatives can live?

And other credible reporting indicates a man has now died from taking Choroquine, the drug Trump hyped the other day.  Keep also in mind that Boris Johnson of the UK announced that he is locking down his entire country out of fear the virus will spread.  It is high time that we Americans in The Villages rise up and defy Trump and his thinking when it comes to OUR health and safety.  It comes first before the economy.
