A Summerfield man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant and claimed to be wearing someone else’s pants found himself behind bars Tuesday on additional charges.
A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to a residence in the 13500 block of S.E. 33rd Court and made contact with 38-year-old Dustin Michael Albert Joles, who was being sought for a probation violation. While searching Joles, the deputy reported finding two small plastic baggies in his right thigh pocket, one of which contained a white crystal residue and the other a white crystal-like substance. Both tested positive for methamphetamine, with the substance weighing .83 grams, a sheriff’s office report states.
Joles told the deputy he had money in his pocket that he wanted to be given to his mother. But after being read his rights, he claimed the shorts he was wearing weren’t his and he had just found them in the garage. He said that none of the items located on him were his, including a brown leather wallet in his back pocket, the money and the two plastic baggies, the report says.
Joles was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violations on past charges of possession of methamphetamine. He was being held on no bond and is due in court June 7 and June 8, jail records show.
