Doris Y. “Dory” Ratner, 86, The Villages, Florida passed away on August 27, 2021 surrounded by her loving family under the care of staff of Marion County Hospice at the Ted & Diane Brandley Hospice House in Summerfield, Florida. Dory was born on February 18, 1935 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to her parents Samuel Henry Solsky and Ellen (Hochberger) Solsky.

She and her late husband Fredric moved to The Villages in 2003 from Rockville, Maryland. She was a member of Temple Shalom of Central Florida and was very active in the Congregation. Dory was a former Sales Professional in the Real Estate Sales Industry for Bauman Real Estate in Reading, Pennsylvania and then into the Retail Sales Industry where she had worked for Nieman Marcus. Dory was an exceptional baker and also enjoyed gardening. Her family loved her apple dumplings and sour cherry pie.

She is survived by her loving children: two sons: Gregg Bonda and his wife Meg of Issaquah, WA and Brett Bonda and his wife Annette of Mechanicsville, VA; three daughters: Jessica Nadler of Falls Church, VA, Deborah Ratner of Port Washington, NY and Judith Pattik of Carlesbad, CA; nine loving grandchildren: Sam Bonda, Max Bonda, Aaron Bonda, Ethan Bonda, Alec Nadjari, Ian Nadjari, Isabelle Nadler, Dylan Nadler and Michael Pattik.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Fredric B. Ratner, her brother, Jules Solsky and a sister, Cecelia Solsky.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 11:00AM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, Florida with Rabbi Zev Sonnenstein officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Temple Shalom of Central Florida at 13563 Co Rd 101, Oxford, FL 34484 or ARC (Advocacy Resource Center) of Marion County at 2800 SE Maricamp Rd, Ocala, FL 34471.
