Flagman blamed for causing accident on Avenida Central

A flagman working on the Avenida Central project is being blamed for an accident at 2:15 p.m. Sept. 10.

Avenida Central was down to one lane due to a paving project, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The report indicated that a flagman employed by Middlesex Asphalt LLC  of Orlando inappropriately signaled a vehicle driven by Robert Taylor, 73, of Ocklawaha, to proceed into the intersection of Avenida Central and Oak Meadows Lane.

His Ford F-150 collided with a 2005 Chrysler driven by Margaret A. Vujacic, 41, of Havertown, Pa.

The report did not identify the flagman.
