41-year-old pedestrian from Pennsylvania killed in Marion County

A 41-year-old pedestrian from Pennsylvania was killed when he was struck by a car at 5:10 a.m. Monday on SW 60th Avenue and SW 52nd Street in Ocala.

David A. Santavicca of Nottingham, Pa. was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by Marion County Fire Rescue, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

He had been struck by a vehicle driven by Phillip Kyle Hashagen, 51, of Ocala.

Santavicca was wearing dark clothing and Hashagen was unable to avoid hitting him, the FHP report noted.
