An Ocala man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence early Tuesday morning by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy.

William Brent Kanuckel, 55, was pulled over at 2:18 a.m. at State Road 44 and County Road 219 after his vehicle was spotted swerving, according to an arrest report from the sheriff’s office. The deputy suspected Kanuckel had been drinking and Kanuckel failed field sobriety exercises. He refused to provide a breath sample.

It was discovered that Kanuckel was free on bond following an arrest in Marion County on a charge of cocaine possession.
