Police respond to report of intoxicated man firing weapons

A 28-year-old Lady Lake man was arrested after police were called about a report of an intoxicated man firing weapons, including an AK-47.

Lady Lake police responded shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday to the residence of Zachary Taite Adams on Oakridge Drive.

There they discovered the AK-47 and two handguns on the floor of the vehicle.

Adams told police that he had been drinking and taken medication, according to the arrest report. He told police that he had been shooting at the ground.

Police ran the weapons through a database and discovered one of the firearms had been reported stolen in Hillsborough County.

Adams was arrested on a charge of possession of a stolen firearm.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail and later released after posting  $2,000 bond.
