FHP called in to investigate accident on CR466 in which car flipped

The Florida Highway Patrol has been called in to investigate an accident in which a car flipped on County Road 466.

The accident occurred at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of CR466 and Cherry Lake Road near the Sumter County line.

One person was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Westbound traffic on CR466  was being diverted away from the crash site for more than two hours.

Multiple emergency responders were at the scene, including the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, the Villages Public Safety Department and Lady Lake police.
