This sketch of the suspected bank robber has been released.

A sketch of the bank robber who on Aug. 13 stole money from Citizens First Bank at Mulberry Grove in The Villages has been released by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators are hoping the sketch will generate new leads in the case.

The bank was robbed by a man wearing a “Texas” T-shirt at about 2:30 p.m. Aug. 13. At about 5:30 p.m. that same day, Lady Lake police surrounded Suntrust Bank located at 101 LaGrande Blvd. on the Historic Side of The Villages, taking a man into custody. He was turned over to Marion County law enforcement. However, after a check of video surveillance from some unnamed Lady Lake businesses, the man was ruled out as a suspect.
