Members of The Villages Democrats Club are gearing up for a golf cart caravan next week.
The group plans to meet Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. in the Barnes & Noble parking lot and drive around Lake Sumter Landing to generate support and interest in the upcoming Nov. 6 general election. Those attending are encouraged to decorate their carts and to wear blue to show their support for Democratic candidates running for various offices in the election.
Those who need signs for their golf carts can pick them up at Sumter County Democratic Headquarters, 300 S Main St., #1, in Wildwood (opposite Ace Hardware). Members of the club also are encouraged to invite their friends to attend. And those who don’t have a golf cart are asked to come cheer for the group as they make their way around Lake Sumter Landing.
“Our America has no need to be made great again. America has always been great,” the group’s flyer said. “Stay strong and bring the ‘Blue Wave’ home.”
