Clermont woman on motorcycle killed in accident in Osceola County

A 49-year-old Clermont woman riding on a motorcycle was killed when the motorcycle collided with a trailer being towed by a truck Friday night in Osceola County.

Dawn Browne had been riding on the back of a 1998 Honda motorcycle driven by David Fernandez, 25, of Clermont, at 6:45 p.m. when the motorcycle struck a trailer being towed by a pickup driven by Jason Markesteun, 39, of Christmas, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The truck had turned in front of the motorcycle, the accident report indicated.

Fernandez, who had been wearing a helmet, suffered serious injuries was transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center.

Browne, who had been wearing a helmet as well, was transported to St. Cloud Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Markesteun escaped injury.

Charges are pending, the FHP indicated.
