The redesign and alteration of the gate at the Village of Bridgeport at Lake Sumter will cost $12,000 to $13,000.
The Project Wide Advisory Committee, which includes representation from Community Development Districts 5 through 11, got an update on the project Monday morning.
The wall and median will be lowered down to 30 inches in height.
Residents of Bridgeport at Lake Sumter have been making passionate pleas for changes at the gate due to line-of-sight issues. Many have said they are fearful that a serious accident could take place where cars and golf carts intersect.
PWAC is expected to act on the proposed project at an Aug. 28 meeting in which the budget will be presented.
