Items reportedly stolen at Dollar General on U.S. 441 Hwy.

Items were reportedly stolen from the Dollar General in Summerfield on Labor Day.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to the Dollar General located at 15090 South U.S. Hwy. 441 in reference to a theft, according to an incident report. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the store’s employee who advised that an unknown white male entered the store and stole several items from off their shelves.

The employee then stated that the suspect entered the business and picked up a shopping basket. He then proceeded down the aisles and selected a bottle of Old Spice body wash valued at $4 and a backpack valued at $8, according to the incident report. The victim stated that the suspect placed the merchandise inside the backpack, and observed the suspect leave the store with the backpack on his back. The suspect made no attempts to pay for the merchandise.
