Julia Sipperley

Julia (Judy) Sipperley passed away 2/24/15. Judy was born Julia Marie Dowling in Toledo, Ohio on August 25, 1921 and had lived in Florida since 1963. Before moving to Florida from Jackson, Michigan she had lived in Reynolds Corners, OH, Utica, NY and Hudson, Michigan. As a young girl, due to her father’s work she also lived in Cuba and Brazil with her parents – John and Lucy (maiden name Jacquot) – and brother (Daniel.) John, Lucy and Daniel as well as Judy’s beloved pets all preceded her in death. She married Sip in 1975 – her soulmate. After serving in many positions with the “Bells”, she retired from Southern Bell in 1978 after 32 years of service. Between the two of them, she and Sip had 75 years of service with Bell. (Sip preceded her in death August 23, 2005.) After her retirement she achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. Over her long life, she volunteered her services as a fitness instructor for the YMCA in Jackson, Michigan and West Palm Beach (WPB), FL and was one of the first operators on the Crisis Line in WPB. She has also been a volunteer with: the Telephone Pioneers, Hospice in Sun City Center, Pastoral Care with Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Fruitland Park and had served as an Ambassador at the Windsor of Ocala – where she lived since 2010. Survivors include her beloved son, Eric Sexauer of New Jersey, and her other dear children: Dr. Jack Sipperley of Arizona, Mark Sipperley of Florida and Debi Jones of Georgia, her Niece, Gracie Afridi of Ohio as well as all of the friends who made such a difference in her life. Judy requested that any donations go to your favorite charity (she loved all animals – especially dogs) since she only asked for one red rose, the symbol of love. The following message was to be given to all her loved ones. “I’ve only gone away for a little while. Someday, I’ll greet you all with a smile”.
