Lady Lake man ticketed after leaving scene of accident on U.S. Hwy. 27/441

A 54-year-old Lady Lake man was ticketed on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident after the driver of the vehicle he struck followed him home.

Bryan J. Marchant of Jacaranda Drive had been driving a 2001 Chevrolet van at 7:15 p.m. April 26 when he rear-ended a 2010 four-door Hyundai driven by John T. Briggs, 39, of Fruitland Park, on U.S. Hwy. 27/441.

After Marchant drove away, Briggs followed him to his residence, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The investigating officer cited Marchant for careless driving in addition to leaving the scene of an accident.
