THE VILLAGES – Rosa “Rosie” Johnson, 88, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Brownwood Care Center, Wildwood, FL. Born in Graz, Austria she was the daughter of the late Josef and Theresia (Pammer) Koeck.
Rosie was the second youngest of six children and is survived by her younger brother Franzel Koeck of Vienna, Austria.
She was the loving wife for 54 years of Max Johnson of the Village of Santiago, The Villages, FL. She was the mother of Bill Landis and mother-in-law of Sharon Landis, of The Villages, FL, grandmother to Chad Landis and his wife Anna Landis and great grandmother of Julia Rose Landis all of Lawrence, KS.
Rosie enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing, cooking and entertaining. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Club and the German Club.
Rosie retired after 32 years from the Famers First Bank of Lititz, Pa. They moved to The Villages in 1999 and were charter members of Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Hope Lutheran Church, corner of Morse Blvd and CR-466, The Villages. There will be a viewing at the church preceding the service beginning at 10 AM.
Rosie will be interred at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Tuesday September 15th at 2:30 PM.
