Villagers won’t have to wait until April 30’s opening night to attend a production at the new Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center.
The Villages High School is putting on performances of “The King and I” at The Sharon on April 16-18.
Tickets are already on sale at the Villages Lifelong Learning College and the cost is $15. The first night (Thursday) of the high school production is considered a dress rehearsal and the second (Friday) is for understudies. The final night (Saturday) will be a full production.
The show will start at 6:30 p.m.

This is an opportunity for Villagers to get a sneak preview of the brand new facility. It also allows the staff of The Sharon to work out some kinks and smooth out the operation before the official opening on April 30.
Broadway star Patti LuPone will headline the gala opening night with a concert performance. Tickets for that gala event cost $150 and are available March 30. For information, ticket prices and performance schedules go to www.TheSharon.com.
“The Million Dollar Quartet” featuring the national touring company, will be the first musical and run May 18-19. Tickets cost $65-$100 for the play, which is about a 1950s’ concert with Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins.
