Village of Glenbrook man arrested after falling off bicycle

A Village of Glenbrook man was arrested Wednesday night after falling off his bicycle.

A Community Watch driver spotted 51-year-old Charles John Yahnke at 7:22 p.m. who had fallen off his bicycle, was visibly upset and acting belligerently, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Yahnke began cursing at the Community Watch driver who had attempted to make sure Yahnke had not been injured. Yahnke attempted to ride away, but fell off his bicycle again.

A deputy arrived on the scene and asked Yahnke if he had been drinking. He said that after he got off work, he purchased and consumed one pint of vodka.

He was arrested on a charge of disorderly intoxication and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
