Villager’s 18-year-old nephew arrested after altercation over damage to golf cart

A Villager’s 18-year-old nephew was arrested Wednesday night after the two of them reportedly got into an argument over damage to the uncle’s golf cart.

Police were called at 10:09 p.m. to the 1700 block of Hilton Head Boulevard in the Village of Country Club Hills.

The uncle reported that his nephew, John David Newell, who resides at the home with him, had struck him in the back of the head leaving three lumps, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The two men fell to the floor and were wrestling before other family members separated them, the arrest report indicated.

Newell was arrested on a charge of battery and booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $2,000.
