Villages Pops Chorus donates $5,000 from holiday concerts

The Villages Pops Chorus performed two holiday concerts on Dec. 8 before a total of more than 1,300 people.

As a result, the group donated a total of $5,000 to charitable organizations.  Recipients were North Lake Presbyterian Church, Deliver the Difference, Heidi’s Legacy Dog Rescue, and Operation Respect.  Operation Respect is an organization formed by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary.  The organization creates anti-bullying programs used by schools across the country.  The Pops Chorus performed Yarrow’s “Light One Candle” during the concert.  This brings the total amount donated by the Pops Chorus to $10,000 during 2014, the groups first year in existence.  The next concert will be on April 20 when the Pops Chorus will combine with The Villages Swing Band for a concert entitled “Come Fly With Me US!”
