A 37-year-old Wildwood man was arrested after allegedly taking $84 from a woman’s purse.

Andrew David Churchill went to the woman’s home on Saturday morning on County Road 163 in Wildwood as she was going to give him a ride to work, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

He told the woman he wasn’t going to work and that he had her money.  He left with the money, the report indicated.

She later saw Churchill at Bob’s Zippy Mart and asked for her money back. He shoved her, yelled at her and then got on his bicycle and left, the report said.

She then went to Churchill’s mother’s home and had another encounter with him.

He was arrested on a charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
