Wildwood man with long criminal history arrested after K-9 alerts on his vehicle

A 26-year-old Wildwood man with a long criminal history was arrested early Thursday morning after a K-9 alerted on his vehicle.

Anthony Travis Erskine had been pulled over on U.S. 301 in Oxford at about 2:15 a.m. after a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy noted a window tint violation on the white Lincoln Erskine was driving. After a K-9 alerted on the vehicle, bags of methamphetamine were discovered, according to the arrest report.

He was arrested on a felony drug charge and a misdemeanor charge of drug possession.

He was booked on $3,000 bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.

The arrest report noted that Erskine has “an extensive criminal history related to narcotics, robbery and forgery.”
