A 53-year-old Wildwood woman was arrested after she allegedly attacked a man with a large kitchen knife Wednesday night at her home.

Sonia Renita Roberts was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery after she allegedly tried to stab the man at her home on Peters Street, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. The man suffered a deep laceration to his middle finger when he tried to stop her. A trail of blood ran from the bedroom which had been the scene of the attack to the bathroom where the knife was recovered, according to the arrest report.

Roberts told police she would not have not attacked the man if she had not had so much to drink that evening.

She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.
