A 24-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday night at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge on theft and drug paraphernalia charges.
A Sumter County sheriff’s deputy arrived at 8:17 p.m. at the store where a loss prevention officer reported that Denise Renea Yarber of Wildwood had taken some clothes and sandals and concealed them in a Wal-Mart bag with some diapers and tried to leave the store through the garden section, according to an arrest report.
When the deputy conducted a search of Yarber’s book bag, he discovered a hypodermic syringe and a broken teaspoon.
She was arrested on charges of petit theft and possession of drug equipment and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $1,500 bond.
