Woman taken to TVRH after accident invovling school bus

A woman was taken to The Villages Regional Hospital after her vehicle collided with another car, pushing it into a school bus Thursday afternoon on U.S. 301 in Oxford.

Brenda Sue Decker, 59, of Belleview, was northbound on U.S. 301 when she failed to see a car in front of her driven by Matthew Louis Rich, 47, of Santa Monica, Calif.

The force of the crash pushed Rich’s vehicle under the rear of the bus which was driven by Ivory Jean Greene, 48, of Wildwood. Several students were riding on the bus at the time of the accident, but only one complained of injuries. The one complaint was from a teenager who was standing in the center aisle on the bus at the time of the accident preparing to disembark for her stop. She did not seek treatment.

Decker was cited by the Florida Highway Patrol for failure to use due care.

She was transported from the scene by RuralMetro Ambulance Service and taken to TVRH.
