Dollie Marie Davis

Dollie Marie Davis, 90, of Leesburg, FL, went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2015. Mrs. Davis was born on April 20, 1925 in Hickory, Arkansas to her parents Franklin and Dollie Nunley. Marie attended Anderson High School in 1942 and moved to Florida in 1978 from Anderson, IN. She was an active member and the benevolence director of South 14th Street Church of Christ, Leesburg, FL. Marie enjoyed teaching bible class, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and crossword puzzles. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Davis would say that she was a strong and sweet lady with a deep faith who was loyal and honest. Dollie Marie Davis is predeceased by her loving husband of 71 years: Norman Jack Davis. She is survived by her Son: Duane (Debra) Davis, of Loganville, GA; Daughters: Kay (Gibson) Steed, of Lakeland, FL, and Mitzi (Darrell) Melton, of Lady Lake, FL; Eight Grandchildren; Twelve Great-Grandchildren; and Many Nieces and Nephews. Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by many. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 29, 2015 at the South 14th Street Church of Christ, Leesburg, FL at 11 a.m. with visitation prior to the funeral service from 10 – 11 a.m. with internment following the service at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
