June E. Creighton Laughlin, 84, of The Villages, FL, passed from this life Saturday, June 17, 2017. Born in Beavertown, PA she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kieffer) Wetzel.

June was a respected and successful real estate agent in the Elmira, NY area for many years. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She loved her family and friends and people in general. Her motto was always, “The more the merrier!” She was a fabulous baker, cook, gardener, seamstress, furniture refinisher and pretty much anything she put her mind too. She loved to travel. She was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Church in Elmira, NY for many, many years prior to retirement and moving to Florida.

June moved to The Villages from Elmira, NY in 2002 with her husband Gerald. She enjoyed The Villages life style socializing with her friends and playing mah-jongg. She and Gerald would reside for eight months in The Villages and return to summer at Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York. June was a communicant of St. Mark the Evangelist Church, Summerfield, FL.

Besides her parents June was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Creighton in 1985, her brother, Gary Wetzel and two step-children, Mark Laughlin and Debbie Laughlin.

June leaves her husband, Gerald N. Laughlin; seven children; Bruce and Deborah (Carpenter) Creighton, Mark Creighton, Kevin and Jennifer Creighton, Faith (Creighton) Shaw and Timothy Shaw, Shawn Creighton and Michele Palmer, Jamie and Roula (Anninos) Creighton, Bridget (Creighton) Randall and Jody Randall; three step children; Linda (Laughlin) Zuidema, Mari (Laughlin) Schetting and Gus Schetting and Jay and Loraine (Sacco) Laughlin; grandchildren, Michael and Myriam Creighton, Patrick and Judy (Barry) Creighton, Greg and Mona Creighton and Laura Creighton; Andrew Creighton, Jeffrey and Anne (Watson) Shaw, Patrick and Jennifer (Vitale) Shaw, Emma Creighton, Paul and Christina Creighton, Abigail and Jack Randall; great grandchildren; Victoria Creighton, Andres Creighton, Chloe Creighton, step grandchildren; David and Katie (Pohler) Zuidema, Daniel Zuidema, Derek and Michelle (Szymanski) Zuidema, Damon Zuidema, Amy Schetting, Breann Laughlin, Allison Laughlin; step great grandchildren; Jackson Zuidema, Haley Zuidema and Nolan Zuidema and Iva Stabel her dear friend of over 68 years.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Summerfield, on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 10 a.m.
