Gerald Edward Tansey, of Leesburg, FL, lived a life in which he needed little and gave much, providing his family with constant love and support. Against many odds he courageously fought Acute Myeloid Leukemia for 17 months, providing his loved ones with additional opportunities to share time and make memories. Gerald leaves a legacy of love, strength, courage and selflessness for all who were privileged to know him.

Gerald is now reunited with his loving wife of 33 years, Margaret (Peg) Tansey; daughter, Denise Newmons; father and mother, Frank and Ernestine Tansey; siblings Michael Tansey and Sharon Tansey. He leaves his daughter, Diane Luckey and children Nadia and Antonio Alvarez; daughter Cheri Saez, son-in-law, Anibal Saez Jr. and sons, Jordan, Ryan and Jared; daughter Lora Braucher, son-in-law Jim Braucher and sons Nolan and Keagan; son-in-law Terry Newmons and grandchildren Thomas and Ana Prohias. Gerald also leaves behind his beloved siblings, Ronald Tansey, Frank Tansey, John Tansey, Sally Emory, Diane Socha, Janet Tansey and Patrick Tansey; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

A viewing is planned at Page-Theus Funeral Home in Leesburg, Florida, 6 – 8 p.m. (wake at 7 p.m.) Wednesday, August 9, 2017. Services will be held at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Leesburg, Florida, 8:30 a.m. – Thursday, August 10, 2017 followed by internment at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg, Florida.
