Three young females injured when 9mm pistol accidentally fires in Ocala

Three female juveniles were wounded Sunday afternoon in what was reported as an accidental shooting, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office report states.

According to the report, a deputy was called to an Ocala home where three young females suffered injuries when a 9 mm pistol went off. The man who discharged the weapon told the deputy he removed the clip from his handgun and was showing the females the difference between a “real” firearm and a BB gun. The man said he believes his finger snagged the trigger, but he doesn’t remember it happening.

The deputy also reported that he spoke with two of the victims’ mothers, who both said they believed the incident was an accident and they didn’t want to see the man involved “get in trouble.”
