The Sharon, the square and the rain

To the Editor:

I just read the article about the debut of The Sharon and the controversy regarding the original church which included a good photo of the interior and I have a question. Has any thought ever been given to opening the church on the nights that heavy rain/storms are present so that the entertainment can be moved indoors?
There have been many nights lately that have been ruined by the weather. I was on the square once when the very popular American Martian had about 10 people huddled under one of the large umbrellas while it poured the entire time. I thought I heard Rocky and the Rollers mention they were canceled like three times lately due to heavy rains.
I assume that the bands get full pay even when there are only a handful of brave souls enduring the inclement weather. Don’t know if they receive anything if the show is canceled. I am sure the empty bars probably lose money and I am sure that the powers-that-be don’t appreciate all this.
The church is a large open room with a stage and bars and restrooms.  Seems like it could be set up fairly easily and quickly.
Now we are unsure what to do when we hear a bad weather forecast. Should we go? Is the show canceled? If we knew that the show would go on inside the church no matter what the weather, we would head down to see out favorite bands in every case.
Just kind of wondering out loud here.
